Hiya! Welcome to HiyaPurpose’s Privacy Policy.

We want you to know that we take your privacy extremely seriously, and understand that anonymity during career or job exploration is one of the most valuable aspects of our service. We want our users to feel informed, secure, protected and 'in control', as that is exactly how we expect to feel online or when dealing with any company.

This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit www.hiyapurpose.com (the “Site”), and applies to Employers’ and Candidates’ use of the HiyaPurpose platform (the “Platform”) and associated websites (together, the "Site").

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, "you" means (as applicable):

  1. the individual, business or corporate entity registered with HiyaPurpose as either an Employer or Candidate; and

  2. the individual, natural person accessing or using the Site including but are not classified as either an Employer or a Candidate.

​We may from time to time, amend, update or change the Site including our Privacy Policy, without prior notice to you. Consequently, you should regularly check back for any changes that might affect you. This is the current Privacy Policy, and replaces any other Privacy Policy previously published for the Site.

 

1. PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT

When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. If you use a mobile device to access our site we may collect device information (such as your mobile device ID, model and manufacturer), operating system and version information, and IP address. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information”.


Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We use third party services to monitor and analyze web traffic and to keep track of user behavior. We refer to this data as "Behavioural Data".​​

 

We collect Device Information and Behavioural Data using the following technologies:

  1. “Cookies” are data files that are placed on your device or computer and often include an anonymous unique identifier.

  2. “Log files” track actions occurring on the Site, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.

  3. “Web beacons”, “tags”, and “pixels” are electronic files used to record information about how you browse the Site.

The third parties that we use to track Device Information and Behavioural data include:

  • Google Analytics (Google Inc.)

    • Google Analytics is a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google utilizes the Data collected to track and examine the use of this Application, to prepare reports on its activities and share them with other Google services.

    • Google may use the Data collected to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network.

    • Personal Data collected: Cookies and Usage Data.

    • Place of processing: United States – Privacy Policy – Opt Out. Privacy Shield participant.

  • FullStory (FullStory)

    • FullStory is an analytics service provided by FullStory Inc.

    • Personal Data collected: Cookies and Usage Data.

    • Place of processing: United States – Privacy Policy – Opt Out. Privacy Shield participant.

Candidates will be required to provide personal details including their names, email addresses and phone numbers, so that an Employer may contact the Candidate once the Candidate has applied for specific roles posted by that Employer. We refer to this information as "Connection Information".

Before Employers are able to connect with Candidates through the Site, we need to collect certain information from you, including your company's full legal name, your company's billing address and your company's ABN. We refer to this information as “Order Information”.

Both Candidates and Employers will be required to complete various questions that enable our matching engine to effectively match Candidates with Roles posted by Employers. For Candidates, this includes information entered into their 'My Purpose Profile' section, their 'My Background' Section, and select fields in their 'My Account' section (such as their requirement for visa sponsorship). For Employers, this includes information entered into their 'Company Profile' section, and any Role in their 'Role Management Centre'. We refer to this information as "Credentials".

Candidates will be required to upload a resume to their profile to be eligible for matching with Roles on HiyaPurpose. There may also be the opportunity to submit other documents such as cover letters. We refer to this information as "Submitted Documents".

We also collect non-mandatory data from both Candidates and Employers, which includes the reason for visiting HiyaPurpose, current employment status, and the likeliness to recommend one's current employer. We refer to this data as "Demographic Data".

When we talk about “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we are talking about Device Information, Connection Information, Order Information, Credentials, Submitted Documents, Demographic Data and Behavioural Data.

2. HOW DO WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimise our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).

We use the Order Information that we collect generally to fulfil any orders placed through the Site (including processing payment information, providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations). Additionally, we use this Order Information to:

  1. Communicate with you;

  2. Screen orders for potential risk or fraud; and

  3. When in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.

We use Credentials to match Candidates with Roles posted by Employers. Your individual responses to the questions about your ideal Role or hiring needs in our questionnaires will be held strictly confidential, while other information about yourself (such as name, contact details, background, LinkedIn Profile, etc.) will be used to build your 'Candidate Profile'. We may also display your most recent log-in date and other profile/account information to your matches.

We redact all Connection Information from Submitted Documents, and then share the redacted Submitted Documents with Employers for Roles that Candidates apply for. Once a Candidate applies for a Role, the Employer that listed that role will see a summary of that specific Candidate's Credentials, and the redacted version of the Candidate's Submitted Documents. Once the Employer decides they would like to connect with that specific Candidate, HiyaPurpose allows that specific Employer access to the original (unredacted) version of the Submitted Documents, and also informs the employer of the Candidate's Connection Information, so that they may make contact with the Candidate. We do not make any modifications to Candidate resumes other than the redaction as described above. By using HiyaPurpose, you grant HiyaPurpose the permission to redact any Submitted Documents that you submit to the platform as outlined above. Further information about this is available in our Terms of Use.

We require an e-mail address from you when you register for our services. We use your e-mail for both transactional (e.g. account creation, login, order confirmation and notifying of Matches) and promotional (e.g. newsletters, new product offerings, special discounts, event notifications, special third-party offers) purposes. E-mail messages we send you may contain code that enables our database to track your usage of the e-mails, including whether the e-mail was opened and what links (if any) were clicked. If you would rather not receive promotional e-mails from us, please see the section below labeled “Unsubscribe”. We reserve the right to send you certain communications relating to HiyaPurpose services, such as service announcements and administrative messages, without offering you the opportunity to opt out of receiving them. We may also contact you by telephone or text message (including to any wireless number you may provide to us) solely in connection with HiyaPurpose’s services. If you would rather not receive telephone calls or text messages from us, you may change or delete your number from your account preferences page(s), or ask to be removed from our contact list if you receive a call or text message from us.

 

In addition to the uses outlined above, by using our site, you agree to allow us to anonymously use the information from you and your experiences to continue our research into what makes specific candidates and employers attractive to each other. We use your Demographic Data to help segment our findings. This research, conducted by psychologists and behavior research scientists, may be published in academic journals. However, all individual responses will be kept anonymous, and no user information will be published.

We use Behavioural Data so that we can learn what parts of the Site need improvement, and to help users troubleshoot problems that arise during their experience on the Site.

Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

 

3. DO NOT TRACK

 

Please note that we do not alter our Site’s data collection and use practices when we see a Do Not Track signal from your browser. To determine whether any of our third-party providers honor the “Do Not Track” requests, please read their privacy policies.

 

4. EUROPEAN RESIDENTS

 

HiyaPurpose does not currently offer European locations as an option for Candidates or Employers, so at this time. As a result, we suggest that rather than creating a profile that you can't use you send us an email at info@hiyapurpose.com to express your interest, and we'll let you know when we launch in your location. However, if you are a European resident, and you decide to create a profile anyway, you have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact us at info@hiyapurpose.com.

 

Additionally, if you are a European resident or organisation we note that we are processing your information in order to provide the HiyaPurpose Service to you, or otherwise to pursue our legitimate business interests as described on the Site. Additionally, please note that your information will be transferred outside of Europe, including to Australia, Singapore and to the United States. If this is a problem, unfortunately we ask that you discontinue the use of HiyaPurpose at this time, and inform us at info@hiyapurpose.com so that we can remove your information accordingly.

 

 

5. DATA RETENTION

When you visit HiyaPurpose, we maintain your Personal Information unless and until you ask us to delete this information.

 

6. CHANGES

 

We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons.
